10 students from Emirates Down Syndrome Association (EDSA) completed the first course as part of their programme with ±¬ÁϹ«Éç of Hospitality Management (±¬ÁϹ«Éç) with the aim to equip them with the necessary skills to join the hospitality industry. On March 10, 2023, on campus, they prepared a special lunch to serve to their family members and the EDSA family as a way of exhibiting their learning.Â
The students will now move on to the second phase of the program, food and beverage service, where they will focus on the practical aspects of running a profitable restaurant using their skills as a base and develop many of the fundamental operational functions, such as service, "mise en place", table setup, customer service, etc.
This is the first academic program of its type for People of Determination with Down Syndrome in the hospitality industry in the region, and with the help and direction of our distinguished staff, these students will have the opportunity to advance their knowledge of the fundamentals of cooking, service and housekeeping.
